DORSET – Dorset has 3 distinct areas, North Dorset, West Dorset and East Dorset. Dorset is well served with good market towns, villages and rural areas. A range of excellent schools both state and private are available and Dorset is also now known for the excellent restaurants, pubs and farmers markets. There is something for everybody.
North Dorset covers an area from Shaftesbury in the north to Sherborne in the West and Wimborne to the East. It is well served by good transport links to London – Salisbury, Tisbury, Gillingham, Templecombe and Sherborne stations to London Waterloo and the A303 to the north. The topography ranges from the Blackmore Vale to Cranborne Chase, interspersed with villages and rural hamlets.
West Dorset is from the market town of Dorchester in the East to Lyme Regis in the West and Crewkerne, on the Somerset boarder to the North and includes vibrant Bridport with its’ eclectic cultural mix of events. The Jurassic coastline is dotted with a mixture of shingle and sandy beaches, and inland the Bride Valley and Marshwood Vale offer beautiful undulating hills.

SOMERSET – Somerset for us, stretches from Bath to Bruton and Frome in the north to Wells Glastonbury, Somerton and Crewkerne on the western side and the south with its’ many small towns and villages such as Castle Cary, Babcary, and North Cadbury. The countryside varies from rolling hills up towards Bath and then to the Somerset Levels to the West. Road links include A303 and M5 giving good access north/south and east/west. Fast trains to London from Castle Cary and Bath into Paddington. Somerset is well served with a range of excellent schools both state and private. It is renowned for its artisan food and drink producers, together with good restaurants and festivals. Also home to Babbington House (Soho House), The Newt and Hauser and Werth.
WILTSHIRE – South and West Wiltshire centres around the City of Salisbury with its magnificent Cathedral and wonderful Close. The country running West of Salisbury is commonly known as the ‘Tisbury Triangle’ (it runs from the A350 in the West and the A303 in the East and up to Salisbury) is a popular area for pretty villages with good communications, unspoilt countryside and chalk streams. The Wylie Valley to the North West of Salisbury has many lovely villages with the River Wylie running through them. To the North of the A303 are the Downs and Salisbury Plain, again this area has wonderful scenery and great accessibility to the A303 and M4 further north as well as very fast trains from Pewsey into Paddington. The area around Pewsey and Marlborough boasts more good villages as well as fabulous downland scenery. Schooling in Wiltshire is excellent with a great choice of both private and state schools.
